Clara's Woods is located between Stony Brook Road, Marburger Drive, South Drive, and Mills Road.  There are 3 places where you can enter the trails, marked on the map.
  • Entry 1 is along the South Drive, about 100 ft east of the traffic light with a pedestrian crosswalk from South P-lot.
  • Entry 2 is also along the South Drive, between Entry 1 and Entry 3.
  • Entry 3 is just a bit to the North of the metal gate (which closes at 11 pm) on Marburger Drive, and about midway between the traffic light and the pedestrian crossing for the south campus.  This one is easy to see on Google street view.
The map also shows the approximate locations of the main trails. Some trails end in people's backyards, so they're dead-ends.

Cautions: Be aware that Clara’s Woods has poison ivy and disease-carrying ticks, just like any other forest on Long Island.  Learn how to identify poison ivy, as it grows throughout the woods, and extensively on the edges of the trails. You can take precautions against ticks and tick-borne diseases such as using insect repellent and stuffing your pants into your socks. Your very best protection against both poison ivy and ticks is to stay on the trails, where you are less likely to encounter poison ivy or other plants that ticks wait on hoping we will brush against them. Finally, beware of falling branches and trees, especially on windy days.
